Ramatuelle, Gassin, Grimaud and Cogolin… these are just a few of the most beautiful destinations in the Var. These towns offer holidaymakers breathtaking scenery, with beaches that rank among the finest in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, and views over the deep blue sea… The area is also home to numerous upscale open-air hotels (four- and five-star establishments, to be precise). Closeness to nature is, in fact, the main selling point that these campsites with a water park highlight. To give you an idea, we’ve selected three of the most renowned addresses in the region.
Kon Tiki (four-star), Ramatuelle
Kon Tiki campsite highlights its idyllic location at the edge of Pampelonne beach, one of the most beautiful in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. This open-air hotel is also known for its many restaurants and beach clubs, its spa and its extensive wellness center, as well as the quality of its sports and leisure facilities.
Kon Tiki is of course also appreciated for the luxury of its rental accommodation. Among these, the “Tiki Huttes” stand out with a design inspired by Polynesian huts — a feature that’s all the more conducive to getting away from it all. These holiday homes are extremely comfortable, especially since some are set directly at the water’s edge, giving residents an unobstructed view over the deep blue sea. All the “Tiki Huttes” are air-conditioned and have two or three bedrooms. Residents also enjoy a spacious living room, a flat-screen TV, a Hi-Fi system, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom, a covered wooden terrace…
The Ramatuelle campsite also offers the “Tiki Spa”, a 400 m2 wellness and relaxation area. Holidaymakers can enjoy the sauna, jacuzzi or swimming pool there. They can also treat themselves to a massage in the expert hands of the “Tiki Beauty Salon”.
More broadly, your stay is a wonderful opportunity to discover other nearby destinations as well as the other gems of the Côte d’Azur, from the Var to the Alpes-Maritimes: Marineland in Antibes, the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, the Gorges du Verdon, and more.
Les Prairies de la Mer (five-star), Grimaud
Les Prairies de la Mer campsite is also valued for its prime seafront location. This open-air resort can also boast a private beach for its guests in Port-Grimaud. The luxury and modernity of its rental accommodation are also among the estate’s strengths, as are its restaurants and beach clubs, its spa, its fitness center and its beauty institute…
This prestigious campsite welcomes families, couples and groups of friends in wooded grounds spanning around thirty hectares. The estate has around 1,500 pitches. 10% are set aside for tents, caravans or motorhomes; each pitch offers 80 m2 and is connected to the estate’s electrical network. 90% of the site is occupied by rental accommodation, including a large number of high-end mobile homes.
Most of these accommodations are set right on the beach. Some also have a terrace opening onto it, offering an unobstructed view over the Mediterranean and the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
The “Farés” are among the campsite’s top-of-the-range rentals. These Polynesian-style homes are nestled in the heart of a premium area dotted with artificial rivers and lagoons. Holidaymakers can also choose the “Roka Lodge”, prized among other things for their high-quality materials and state-of-the-art amenities.
L’Argentière (four-star), Cogolin
L’Argentière presents itself as a peaceful, natural green haven. The establishment is among the most prestigious in the Var. It welcomes guests in wooded, green grounds of around fifteen hectares. This open-air hotel in the Var is also appreciated for the comfort found in its premium rentals, its water park, and its location — the campsite is less than five kilometers from the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, with Cogolin’s town center and shops just a kilometer and a half away…
The estate has 248 pitches in total, 100 of which are occupied by rental accommodation. The pitches for tents or motorhomes range from 60 to 100 m2. Bordered by oak or mulberry trees, they are all connected to the campsite’s electrical network. A large proportion of the pitches are shaded by trees.
L’Argentière offers “classic”, “comfort” and “premium” rentals. All of these accommodations are valued for their comfort and the quality of their equipment (particularly in the kitchen). That said, the premium range outclasses the other two categories. The premium mobile homes, for instance, are designed to accommodate between two and eight people. Residents also benefit from several amenities: television, air conditioning, dishwasher, Wifi connection, and more.
In terms of activities, holidaymakers can enjoy the estate’s water park. This relaxation and entertainment area includes a large pool, another pool alongside a three-lane multi-slide, a paddling pool and a play area. You can also make the most of sunny days on the sun decks around the pools, in the shade of parasols made from Camargue reeds.
Your stay is of course also a chance to enjoy plenty of activities at sea. The nearest Mediterranean beaches are, in fact, less than five kilometers from the campsite (at Port-Cogolin and Port-Grimaud). Pampelonne beach, meanwhile, is located fifteen kilometers from the estate.
