Camping Porte de Provence

Camping Porte de Provence is a 4-star campsite with 100 pitches in Mirmande, in the Drôme Provençale, 8 km from Montélimar. Surrounded by wooded hills and crossed by a small stream, it plays the card of human scale and calm: evenings end at 11 pm.

You can stay on a shaded pitch of 70 to 100 m², some with private sanitary facilities, in an air-conditioned mobile home with 2 or 3 bedrooms, one of them adapted for guests with reduced mobility, or in the stone Provençal farmhouse, which has its own pool.

Here the water area is designed for relaxation and families rather than thrills: no slides, but heated pools, a lazy river and a spa area, overlooking the hills of Mirmande.

The snack bar and restaurant, a stone’s throw from the pool, serves traditional and Provençal cuisine made with local produce, with a children’s menu and vegetarian dishes. Every Tuesday, a mussels-and-chips evening is followed by a dance night.

On site: a small grocery, bread delivery, washing machines and dryers, a TV room, baby kit hire and free wifi across the site. A 22 kW charging point serves electric vehicles and a service area serves motorhomes. Pets are welcome on a lead.

In July and August, a kids’ club for 5 to 12-year-olds offers crafts, painting and treasure hunts. Families also have a playground, a trampoline, table tennis, a pool table and football and volleyball pitches. In the evening: karaoke, bingo, quizzes and a weekly concert.

With partners, the campsite organises a weekly canoe trip on the Drôme and a morning of tree-top adventure in the Forêt de Robin, 4 km away. Nearby: the hilltop village of Mirmande, the Cliousclat pottery, Grignan castle, the Palais idéal du Facteur Cheval and the ViaRhôna cycle route.
