Domaine Berrua perfectly embodies the Basque art of living, with an atmosphere that is both relaxed and friendly, inviting both leisurely relaxation and discovery. Its semi-shaded, flower-filled setting, nestled between sea and mountains, preserves each traveller’s privacy while encouraging interaction and encounters. The architecture of the buildings, with white-washed walls and red timber frames, constantly recalls the traditional villages of the Basque Country, and the Basque pelota court at the heart of the estate reflects the campsite’s deep attachment to its regional culture.
The establishment proudly bears its slogan — “Resolutely local” — as a promise of authenticity and territorial roots. Whether you stay in a mobile home, chalet or Basque house, you’ll enjoy a well-kept setting where local charm combines with the comforts of a 4-star campsite open all year round.
To make your stay as pleasant as possible, Domaine Berrua has brought together a wide range of services close at hand. Free high-speed fibre Wi-Fi is available throughout the campsite, allowing you to stay connected if you wish. On the catering side, the snack bar, open from April to September, offers a quick and friendly option, while the restaurant — with an indoor dining room and covered terrace — welcomes food lovers all year round.
Families will also appreciate the children’s playground, table tennis tables, pétanque pitch and multi-sports ground, which offer something to do at any time of day. Activities are organised from April to the end of September as well as during the All Saints’ holidays, so that every age group finds something fun to do in a festive, welcoming atmosphere.
Domaine Berrua never runs short of ideas to fill your days. On site, the children’s and teens’ mini club takes care of the younger ones with a varied programme including games and supervised activities. The whole family can join in the pétanque tournaments, the aquagym sessions and the many activities on offer throughout the season. Water sports enthusiasts will find their happy place just 1 kilometre from the Atlantic beaches, while hikers can set off along the coastal path with views over the ocean.
In the surrounding area, there’s plenty to explore: discover Biarritz (4 km) and Saint-Jean-de-Luz (8 km), take a trip to Bayonne, Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port or even Hendaye. A shuttle serves the coastal towns, making it easy to get around without a car. For the more adventurous, the Spanish Basque Country — with San Sebastián and Bilbao — is just a few dozen minutes away.
